TERASCOPE

The Terascope from Helmut Fischer is a Coating Thickness Gauge measuring up to 6 THz bandwidth and has a sampling rate of 1.6 kHz. This gauge can be used to measure any material used as a coating with an accuracy of 1 µm. It can measure up to 7 layers in one single measurement and deliver both total layer thickness and individual layer thicknesses. The optimal thickness of the substrate can range from 10 µm up to several millimeters and the measurement range is around 7 cm. It offers automated, non-destructive, and non-contact coating thickness measurement for both single and multilayer coatings, as well as material analysis.  
The TERASCOPE features patented clean-trace technology for measurements and an integrated 3D scanner for shape detection. It comes with 3D scanning capabilities and powerful software for seamless integration into process control systems. The highly precise, robust, and reliable positioning of the measuring head of this gauge allows accurate measurement results and complete surface characterization, independent from ambient light, temperature, object color and object shape. It has an efficient and user-oriented software solution for perfect integration into process control systems. This equipment supports simple communication via TCP/IP or PROFINET for convenient control of the entire measuring system, reliable data handling, raw signal in real-time and graphical display of measured values.
