Electronic circuits integrate more functions as they are designed into smaller areas in commercial, industrial, medical, or defense applications. They often must also meet challenging requirements for power and weight. To meet demands for miniaturization, electronic devices are designed in multilayer circuit topologies, often with power, analog, RF/microwave, and high-speed digital components, transmission lines, and interconnections densely packed in a multilayer PCB.
