Advanced Material Show Held in UK Brings Together Leaders in R&D, Engineering, Science and Innovation712370

NEC Birmingham, UK attracted over 3800 unique visitors across the two-day event which showcased materials with exceptional properties for engineering and electronic applications, along with the technologies used to develop them. The event brought together leaders in R&D, engineering, science, and innovation to share knowledge and learn how to improve advanced materials with a particular focus on properties such as lightweight, conductivity, durability, thermal resilience, and strength.

The event combined four shows to showcase the very latest advanced technologies and innovations within battery technology, electric vehicles, advanced materials, and technical ceramics. It was a single event for four connected industries. The Advanced Materials Show, Advanced Ceramics Show, Battery Cells & Systems Expo, and Vehicle Electrification Expo brought together four connected industries for two days of networking, lead generation, and education at the NEC, Birmingham on the 28th & 29th of June 2023.

Apart from having a  record number of visitors, the shows attracted hundreds of industry leaders at the four-track conference, featuring organizations including Rolls Royce, Costain Group and Dr Andy Palmer and Roger Atkins, two notable EV thought-leaders within the industry alongside many others.

‘It’s an amazing opportunity for four different communities to come together and the co-location of the Battery Cells and Systems Expo with Vehicle Electrification Expo, alongside the advanced materials show and the ceramics show. It just means all of these ideas can coalesce together, and we’re going to meet so many different people; it creates a really vibrant atmosphere. It’s those opportunities and those ideas to meet people- it’s just amazing.” – Claire Spooner, Deputy Challenge Director, Faraday Battery Challenge, UKRI

Leading technologists from top industries such as BAE Systems, DSTL, Jaguar Land Rover, Volta Trucks, Lotus, MBDA, Parker Meggitt, PETRONAS, and SAFRAN were contributors to the event. The event witnessed varied participation from CEO, President, Managing Director, Purchasing, R&D, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Applications Specialist, Material Engineering Group Manager, Materials Research Lead Project Engineer, Materials and Innovation Manager, Procurement Director from the industry side, and also buyers.

Steve Bryan, Managing Director at Event Partners (organizers) says “We are thrilled with the success of these advanced technologies events. The show proved to be an extraordinary gathering of industry leaders, thought leaders, and innovators, bringing together a diverse audience from 48 countries across the world. This year's event surpassed all expectations, drawing in an astounding number of visitors and solidifying its reputation as the leading event in the advanced technologies space.”

Discussions for the upcoming show to be held next year are underway. The organizers look forward to a more promising and interactive experience that will drive the material industry forward and shape its future trajectory.
