ProtoLaser S4

The ProtoLaser S4 from LPKF Laser & Electronics North America is a PCB Prototyping Instrument that enables replicating software designs on PCB with high precision and accuracy. This prototyping machine has a structuring speed of 650 mm/s along with a wavelength of 532 nm. It provides a total working area of 229 x 305 x 10 mm and has a resolution of 0.006 mm which helps create clear designs with high accuracy. This machine features automatic surface inspection, auto level, slow motion, low noise, light for work area, micro drilling & milling, pause/resume option, high-speed motors, ability to design two-layer PCBs, and emergency stop/play. It is accompanied by PC-based software with interactive GUI, PCB viewer, and software support for extended Gerber files from all CAD software.

Using a special process, the ProtoLaser S4 can quickly remove large swaths of copper from laminated substrates like FR4. It can also deliver outstanding results on special materials for RF applications. The use of 532 nm wavelength laser lowers the likelihood of burning the carrier substrate. The integrated high-resolution camera quickly and accurately recognizes register marks or conductor structures on the board.
