Overview of the CBT Device Design

This article presents rigid-flex circuit board design guidelines for the development of a core body temperature (CBT) sensor device. These guidelines are generic in such a way that they can be applied to multiple temperature sensing applications requiring high accuracy (± 0.1°C). The recommendations herein were implemented in the joint development of a. CBT sensor device by Texas A&M and Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI). The CBT device employed four MAX30208 temperature sensor devices in an assembly that measured heat flux for estimating a subject’s CBT accurately.
