SnapEDA Now Available on DesignSpark.com712370

SnapEDA has now collaborated with DesignSpark, an online design community and resource centre for design engineers provided by RS Components. DesignSpark was launched 11 years ago, with a mission of providing resources, tools and technical support to engineers. This is certainly a mission that resonates with SnapEDA, that has been dedicated to helping engineers design electronics faster by removing barriers – which of course, all started with the EDA & ECAD models we’ve come to be known for.

Today, DesignSpark has over 1 million registered users of its flagship DesignSpark PCB design software, as well as its website which provides support for mechanical, electronic, and electrical engineers.

The new collaboration has two aspects:

  • First, DesignSpark PCB users will be thrilled to learn that DesignSpark PCB is now a supported export format on SnapEDA.
  • Secondly, the magic of SnapEDA has been integrated directly on the DesignSpark website for users of all PCB design formats to benefit from. Engineers will be able to search and download millions of CAD models — including symbols, footprints, and 3D models — provided by SnapEDA directly on DesignSpark.com and download them to their PCB design tool of choice.

In the DesignSpark integration, SnapEDA has ensured that it is providing native CAD models just like on its own website. In addition to the DesignSpark PCB format, the new integration exports to Altium, KiCad, Autodesk EAGLE & Fusion360, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Pulsonix, DipTrace, Proteus, ExpressPCB Plus, CircuitStudio, PADS, PCB123, Target 3001!, and P-CAD.

Using the new SnapEDA app on DesignSpark.com, engineers can search for electronic components based on part number, manufacturer, and specs. They can view CAD models before download, find datasheets, buy components from RS Components, and request CAD models that aren’t yet available using SnapEDA’s popular InstaPart service.

How to Download SnapEDA CAD Models from DesignSpark:

  • Go to https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/snapeda-parts-finder
  • Search for any keyword like ‘bluetooth’ or ‘usb type c’
  • Select the component that fits your needs
  • Go to the 3D tab to see the preview of the 3D model. You will have the ability to rotate the component, zoom it in and zoom it out, etc.
  • To request parts that are not available, simply click on the request button and SnapEDA will create it in less than 24 hours. Request credits here.
