SEMI, the global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chains for the microelectronic, display, and photovoltaic industries, has announced the launch of SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEA) 2023 in Penang, Malaysia. The exhibition, which will take place from May 23-25, 2023, aims to boost the agility and resiliency of the electronics supply chain in Southeast Asia amidst ongoing trade tensions and geopolitical instability.

With the semiconductor industry still reeling from the aftershocks of ongoing supply chain disruptions and trade tensions between the East and the West, SEMICON Southeast Asia 2023 comes at a critical time. The US CHIPS Act and the semiconductor alliance have also put a renewed focus on modernizing the supply chain strategy to respond to evolving market forces.

According to SEMI, the exhibition will bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss and explore strategies to modernize the supply chain strategy. The focus will be on pursuing two key objectives – having the agility to evolve swiftly and profitably by anticipating, initiating, and capitalizing on opportunities and having the resiliency to reorganize and deliver the core functions continually, despite the impact of external and/or internal shocks to the system.

SEMI maintains offices in key locations around the world, including Beijing, Bengaluru, Berlin, Brussels, Grenoble, Hsinchu, Moscow, San Jose, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington, D.C. The organization's Strategic Association Partners, including the Electronic System Design Alliance (ESD Alliance), FlexTech, the Fab Owners Alliance (FOA), and the MEMS & Sensors Industry Group (MSIG), represent defined communities within SEMI focused on specific technologies.

The SEMICON Southeast Asia 2023 exhibition promises to be a key event for the electronics supply chain industry in Southeast Asia, bringing together key stakeholders and experts to discuss and explore strategies to boost the agility and resiliency of the supply chain amidst ongoing trade tensions and geopolitical instability.
