Flex and rigid flex circuit board manufacturer, Printed Circuits, has added new high speed, fully automatic drill/routers from Pluritec to its drilling department. The company expanded its drilling and routing capabilities with Pluritec’s EVO multi-station precision micro drill/rout modular work cells. The fully automated work cells incorporate XYZ linear motion systems, HD vision, 200K microdrill spindles, and 60K precision routing spindles, with a 1,700 tool library capacity.

The new equipment incorporates next generation PCB manufacturing capabilities such as 15µm control depth drilling and routing, via drilling down to 4 mil (0.1 mm) holes, in a fully automated “lights out” 24/7 automated operation. The Pluritec machines in particular automate the drilling and routing process, for greater capacity without adding additional staff.

Perfect for small batches and quick turnaround needs, thanks to its modular design, each EVO multi-station module (station), is an independent machine. It enables connecting of virtually as many modules as needed, forming a single line running different jobs managed from a single user interface. Each module can be configured with a different spindle type (drilling or routing) and equipped with an automatic loading and unloading system for maximum flexibility. Speed and productivity is established because of its solid structure and linear motors on all axes. The station can be equipped with a CCD camera system for table offset alignment to specific targets to avoid most of the registration errors for perfect drilling.

Printed Circuits is a US manufacturer of multilayer flex and rigid flex printed circuit boards with over 40 years of experience building circuits typically used in high reliability applications such as medical, military and commercial electronics where customers place a premium on reliability, package density, and weight.

Founded in 1968, Pluritec has a long and successful history in the Printed Circuits Boards industry. Thanks to the long experience, professional skills and in-depth knowledge of the market the company develops, designs and manufactures equipment for the Printed Circuit Board fabrication.
