UK NPL’s Electronic and Magnetic Materials Group undertakes a wide range of research and collaborative projects in support of the electronics industry.
One such project is in Driving the Electric Revolution. In November 2020, the UK Government announced its target of ending all petrol and diesel car sales by 2030 and hybrids by 2035. The Auto Council identified that this would require more than 2 million next generation drives to replace existing engines.
A race is underway to create radically more efficient, greener ways to fly such as hybrid and fully electric aircrafts, which will transform aviation. Electrification of transport requires significant innovation in materials and components that need to operate under challenging conditions. This project will develop world leading measurement facilities for measurements under realistic and accelerated conditions, new instrumentation for quality assessment and measurement services to accelerate the UK-led global transition to electric transport.
Taking place on 22 June 2021 and hosted by Martin Wickham, Senior Research Scientist at NPL, the New Electronic Materials Research Programme and Collaboration Opportunities webinar, will present NPL's vision for the research programme for the next 3 years and provide participants with the opportunity to influence the research priorities.
The session will also explain how companies can be involved in NPL's projects and influence project parameters to best reflect a wide range of requirements.
