Intervala, a provider of intelligent manufacturing solutions to each customer’s unique requirements, recently rejoiced the opening of a new facility. Executives from Intervala and Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) joined local officials to celebrate the opening of Intervala’s new 217,000 square-foot electronics manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters at RIDC Westmoreland Innovation Center.

The space features a new production floor spanning 125,000 square feet and showcases Intervala’s recent multimillion-dollar investments in top-of-the-line manufacturing equipment, technology tools, and software used in manufacturing complex, high-performance printed circuit board assemblies, electromechanical systems, and cable and harness assemblies.

Intervala President and CEO Teresa Huber said that their new Westmoreland site provides Intervala with an exciting platform for growth, allowing them to better serve their customers through expanded capabilities, leading-edge technologies, and enhanced innovation and collaboration. Intervala has added more than 100 skilled jobs in the Pittsburgh region in the last five years, and they are continuing to grow. They are grateful to RIDC for its partnership in matching them with a location and space that will comfortably accommodate their future growth and expansion.

RIDC President Donald Smith, Jr. stated that bringing back businesses and jobs to RIDC Westmoreland has been their priority from day one. Intervala’s presence here not only aligns with that goal but also advances the manufacturing ecosystem that’s growing at this site. Their community partners have been integral to the successful revitalization of RIDC Westmoreland.

Timothy White, RIDC’s Senior Vice President of Development mentioned that with each new tenant that puts roots down at this site, they have their great partners Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation and the County to thank for helping make the transformation of this former Sony plant a reality.
