Due to the still strong spread of COVID-19 in India and the stringent travel restrictions imposed by the Government, Messe Muenchen India has cancelled its trade fairs electronica India 2020 and productronica India 2020 originally scheduled from September 23–25, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru.

Taking this measure, Messe Muenchen India has assumed its responsibility for the health and safety of its stakeholders, exhibitors and visitors. The decision was also based on industry feedback received through the extensive survey conducted by the organizer.

According to Bhupinder Singh, CEO Messe Muenchen India, unfortunately, owing to the current situation and restrictions enforced by the Government of India on travel and mass-gatherings, it is not possible for the organizers to successfully hold the trade fairs in September. The health and safety of everyone involved in the trade fairs is the prime concern. The organizing team will now put its energy into organizing a successful electronica India, productronica India and MatDispens 2021.

Falk Senger, Managing Director of Messe München, added that, as a trade fair organizer they have to adapt their plans to the dynamic situation caused by the pandemic. They would not have been able to meet the expectations of the participants and had to rethink the plans. Messe Muenchen India is treading responsibility for the benefit of all concerned.

The next electronica India and productronica India will be held in autumn 2021.
