The XD7800NT Ruby XL from Nordson Corporation is an X-ray Inspection System that can inspect Printed Circuit Boards of varied sizes. It can accommodate a maximum PCB size of 1205 x 672 mm with reduced magnification and allows an area of 96 x 67 cm to be inspected non-destructively. This system uses a 3-megapixel camera, having a focal spot range between 0.5 to 0.95 µm, resulting in high-quality images. It can be operated via a Joystick control (X, Y or X, Y & Z) that enables a complete 360° view around a point of interest, by its 70° oblique angle views (over 762 x 610 mm). Additionally, it utilizes an isocentric manipulator configuration to ensure continuous visibility of essential features.
The XD7800NT includes the innovative Nordson TEST & INSPECTION NT maintenance-free, sealed-transmissive X-ray tube. Complementing this, the system incorporates a 3 Mpixel long lifetime CMOS flat panel detector, ensuring thorough failure analysis and manufacturing tasks are seamlessly addressed within production settings. This system's vertical configuration, featuring the x-ray tube positioned beneath the isocentric 'move and tilt' detector mechanism, facilitates safe, collision-free, and high-magnification inspections controlled through intuitive 'point and click' operation. Automating these processes is streamlined by the Nordson T&I Image Wizard software, eliminating the need for advanced programming skills.
This X-ray Inspection System is available in an enclosure that measures 94.5" x 98.5" x 81.5" (2400 x 2500 x 2070 mm) in width, depth, and height, respectively. With a total system weight of 3000 kg (6600 lbs). It requires a single-phase AC supply from 200 to 230 V and consumes less than 1000 W of power. The unit necessitates compressed air at 4-6 bars of clean dry air for anti-vibration functionality.
