The Tachyon 100G from Isola is an Ultra-Low Loss Laminate and Prepreg that is designed for very high-speed digital applications up to and beyond data rates of 100 Gb/s. It exhibits good electrical properties that remain stable over a wide range of frequency and temperature, i.e., -55°C and +125°C and up to 100 GHz. These electrical properties facilitate designers by providing a wide range of possibilities for next-generation designs for daughter cards and backplanes.

The Tachyon 100G was specifically designed to deliver the highest level of thermal performance to be used in high-layer count line cards. The Z-axis CTE is very low thus making it a superior choice for fine pitch BGA applications of 0.8mmm or less. The material utilized in making Tachyon 100 G is optimized with the use of spread glass to mitigate skew, reduce jitter, increase eye width/height, and improve rise times. It uses ultra-smooth HVLP (-55°C and +125°C up to 100 GHz.2) 2um Rz copper that enables it to significantly reduce conductor losses.
